SCRIPTURE
Luke 12:29-31 - 29 “And don’t be concerned about what to eat and what to drink. Don’t worry about such things. 30 These things dominate the thoughts of unbelievers all over the world, but your Father already knows your needs. 31 Seek the Kingdom of God above all else, and he will give you everything you need.
OBSERVATION
Have you ever found yourself worrying about the future or things that are outside of your control? I sometimes find myself lying in bed at night worrying about things that the next day may bring. Worry is one of the main tools that the enemy uses to distract us from all that God has for us. Throughout chapter twelve, Jesus reminds us that God is for us and that we need not worry as long as we are pursuing Him and His kingdom!
APPLICATION
In chapter twelve, Jesus tells us that God knows how many hairs we have on our heads. Can you imagine how much more he cares for our needs? The next time you feel worry and doubt creep into your mind, take a moment to turn your focus onto Jesus. Just remember that when we are doing the works of the Father and his Kingdom, he will care for us and our needs.
PRAYER
Father, I come to you today asking that you would bring peace and understanding to our hearts. We may not be able to understand why we are going through the trials that we are going through, but we know that you are a loving Father. We turn our eyes to you and chase after your purpose for our lives. May we find comfort in your presence and purpose in your will.
